Toronto Night Market

by on Jul.15, 2009, under Eating Food, Photography

Went to night market last Friday, can’t believe its already been a year since the last one! Time just ZOOOOMs by somehow…

Overall, the experience was alright, it felt like there was more people this year than ever! You sort of had to join a ‘flowing stream’ to get around…

I mostly went because I wanted to eat the FOOD! Expecially stinky tofu, soo GOOD! don’t know where else in toronto i would be able to find it! Tried the takoyaki, it was meh, didnt taste good. The ‘stir fry’ ice cream was a fail, they ran out of dry ice so they couldn’t stir lol, they were selling ice cream with toppings on top for 4$, such a rip, we didnt bother. Also had some squid and meat skewers,….hmmm so gud!

After, met up with some friends and went to the BEST BBT venue GREEN GROTTO after, honeydew yogurt chiller is the best. get it next time you go, you won’t regret it. We had too many people so we got take out, i think it was cheaper (?), stephen ate his raw oysters from night market during parking lot chill XD

FUN TIMES, SEE YOU NEXT YEAR,

Is this garbage?

“Is this Garbage? Please let us know.”
“Thanks, custodians”

“Yes it is, ♥OCD”

I dunno Off-Campus-Dons, i don’t think the custodians will ‘heart’ you much in return. You just made them throw out two boxes of fine chips. Albeit they’re old (2008) and probably stale. But I had a bag and they were fine.

Kids these days.

Chez Arthur: 1am Bread Pudding

by on May.21, 2009, under Making Food

It’s called “1am Bread Pudding” because I made it at 1am yesterday. It took less than 1/2 hr to make and turned out very good. The recipe called for walnuts, but I didn’t have any, so i substituted it with Horlick malk drink mix. Quite good! It made it a malty flavour. Ask me if you want the recipe!

RED ANT Restaurant

by on Apr.23, 2009, under Eating Food

Last week, after a long a hard discussion about where to go for lunch, we decided to go to that mall on a hill near 16th and Leslie and decide on a place there (Yes that one which is supposedly haunted LOL). We got there and one restaurant caught our attn, we didn’t really feel like chinese food, but chinese-nized western food a.k.a hk cafe style. It was called Red Ant Restaurant. I found the name funny, why would you name a restaurant ‘Red Ant’. Maybe its to continue the theme of naming restaurants after insects much like the ‘Firefly’ restaurant at FMP.

Anyhow, we looked at the menu, the prices were quite good! The lunch special menu was around $6 to $10. Comes with the Entree, Soup and Drink and SEASONAL FRUITS O BOY. The food was pretty good, the soup was ok. What surprised us what the lenght the went to to make the drink cold. See normal people would put ice INSIDE the drink. Not here they didn’t, they got a bowl, dumped some crushed ice in it, and stuck the cup into the ice! What the hell?! (I regret not taking a picture of it)

Below you will see a gallary of pictures including the actual food. Theres Baked Pork Chop rice, Japanese Curry Beef, and some chicken Udon thing.

I don’t know how much longer this place will survive, the previous restaurant that occupied that unit don’t tend to last very long. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Edit: Ok so apparently theres a franchise in Hong Kong also called Red Ant Restaurant. I have a feeling this is just a fake knock off.
